Side Table Design & Manufacturing

This was my final project for TDE 110 and was a culmination piece of all the skills I had learned in the class. It was a hard task from design to creation in which careful considerations had to be made all the way through the process.

Charcuterie Board

Making this charcuterie board was a fun project and my first time using the CNC mill to create an inlay. This project was a great way to develop design skills with accuracy needed for items such as inlays.

Falling Waters Lamp

For this project, we recreated a famous design from Architect Franky Lloyd Wright. This project was dimensional intolerant and caused a great deal of stress with learning to keep dimensional accuracy above everything.

Push Stick

This was my first ever wood working project spurred on by my TDE 110 Class. In this project we made a push stick which is used for table saws. It got me hooked onto working with wood.

Pen Turning

Pen turning is an easy yet complicated turning project and one that has many levels of difficulty. For this project we went with a simple slimline design, but in my own time I have tried much more complex designs such as European Fountain Pens.

Household Wiring

For one of my last projects of TDE359 we were tasked with building a wall section. This allowed us to get a glimpse at the standards for household electrical wiring and give us enough experience to do some DIY work.

CE-01

This and the next couple of projects involve the Arduino platform and various sensors to create certain circuit functions. For this first one, the goal was to create a proximity sensor, which could be used as a backup sensor.

CE-02

For this sensor setup, I created a tilt ball switch connected to a speaker.  This could be used in a toy where orientation matters such as a Bop-It.

CE-03

This circuit was made so that I could change the angle of a servo motor. Paired with a different type of motor this could be used for locomotion one case would be a robot.

CE-04

For this last Arduino project, I was able to connect a Photoresistor to a DC motor. This allowed me to control the speed of the motor based on the light level in the area.
